Rossi’s Deli, Poughkeepsie NY

Rossi’s has to be my all time favorite deli. It’s been a Hudson Valley institution for almost 40 years. It’s in a residential neighborhood sandwiched in between houses. At this point the son’s run the operations.

During peak lunch hours, especially when school is in, the line can be out the door.

The bread is amazing, especially the focaccia. The large for only a $3 up charge is easily twice as big as the small. It can feed 2-3 depending on how hungry everyone is. Or it can serve as lunch and dinner for later.

The fresh mozzarella is amazing and I always get it on my sandwich. They also make fantastic cannolis, as good as any I’ve had in this country.

If you are ever in the area this is a must. Best food in the valley. Honestly, I’ll take one of these over anything my school has yet to offer me, possibly with the exception of the caviar tasting we had in fish class.
