Heritage Series: Pizza Movie Night!

No series of my most memorable dining experiences would be complete without mentioning probably my most memorable dining ritual of all. Since as long as memory serves every Friday we would have homemade pizza. It was every Friday and only on Friday’s if we missed it we missed it. Through the years the quality of the pizzas has been on a steady increase although the spinach pizza is a staple that has stood the test of time.

The building process usually devolves into a fun messy process.

We’ve recently added a new toy to play with and it gets a lot of use. Especially in the cooler months of the year: a wood burning pizza oven. We use the pizza oven on Fridays for pizza and on other days for whatever we want. We have made everything from steaks to bread to a whole pig. But I’m digressing.

They only take about 5 min at 700˚ f.

And then of course the final product before everyone digs in. We always make enough for Saturday lunch and usually Sunday too.

This is one of the things I miss most about living at home. Other than my family of course! It is a tradition that I grew up with and hope to be able to continue with my family one day. This has to be my most memorable ‘dining’ experience.
